Every Synergy component part on the Salamander Designs Synergy Twin 221 TV Stand Console meets strict standards, and that means a tight fit over a very long lifetime. Salamander goes the distance when it comes to tracking down precisely the right suppliers. Salamander's snap-on hinges come from Italy, their drawer componentry is manufactured in Austria, and their stunningly-simple, brushed aluminum and rubber door pulls are crafted by a Japanese specialty firm. Most Synergy System components, including Salamander's quality hardwoods, are products of the U.S.A.
The Salamander Designs Synergy System relies on shared ideas, yours along with Salamanders designers and engineers. The concept of the The Salamander Designs Synergy System combines simplicity with remarkable versatility.
The Salamander Designs Synergy System cabinet tops and bases are available with three genuine hardwood surfaces-cherry, maple and walnut-as well as in basic black. Side panels come in matching hardwood, black, perforated steel or with a suede-like fabric covering. Corner posts are matte black or aluminum.
Connect and juxtapose Salamander Designs Synergy System modules in numerous ways to create furniture recisely suited to your needs and your living space. Begin with one or more of the Salamander Designs Synergy System core modules, which are available in varying widths as well as in different heights. Then continue on to customize the Salamander Designs Synergy System that's precisely right for you. If you prefer exposed shelving, leave Synergy's handsome framework open. Otherwise opt for side panels that slide snugly into corner-post grooves, and a drawer or two for DVD's, CD's and other necessities. Synergy drawers install easily and slide smoothly, and our rear panels attach with thumbnuts for quick access to component jacks. There's no better wire management system available. You can also have hinged doors. One Synergy door style employs wood framing around a frosted glass panel. The other has a perforated steel center panel to mask speakers while letting their sound pass through. In both cases, infra-red remote signals pass, so you can control your entertainment system with cabinet doors closed. Now or later, add accessories for even more flair and function. All Synergy components interlock precisely and seamlessly.

The unit looks great and does all that I expected.
A bit difficult to set up with only one person, however with two it sets up fairly easy.

The reviews I read suggested that the product would be difficult to assemble. While it did take my 15 year old son and me a couple of hours to put together, that was because we went slow and carefull and made sure we understood each step before proceeding. The written directions were not hard to understand, even though a generic set of instructions applicable to several different units was supplied. I can see how this might confuse someone, but with careful reading it is not difficult at all. The final product looks great and easily holds our 55" Samsung LCD TV.

Fits in with mix of furniture styles in log home, next to stone fireplace. Supports 46" TV & houses components i.e. cable box, dvd player, ... with room for other storage. Remote beam works thru metal doors as touted. Just didn't expect black plastic back (though high quality, sturdy plastic); wood would have looked nicer as I have stand angled in room. Nor did I expect steel on front doors to be black; would expected steel naturally to be silver/aluminum tone, which would have matched corner trims.

Was disappointed in how long it took to be delivered but was very happy with the end result. My husband was challenged with assembly but figured it out. I would have not been able to do it myself. It fits our area perfectly and we have a 46" TV on it, larger than is recommended but it looks great. We appreciated the responses from Simple TV and their help.
