If form should follow function, purpose ought to dictate structure. Unlike so much furniture sold to house today's heavy home entertainment components, Synergy carries the weight on bases and tops more than an inch thick, sturdier than many desktops. The thickness of other shelves measures three quarters of an inch, and all hardwood surfaces have substantial veneering. Aluminum support posts as strong as they are sleek, permit you to position and lock internal shelves at the precise heights you require, leaving ample breathing room for heat-generating electronics. Most Synergy System components, including Salamander's quality hardwoods, are products of the U.S.A. Features:
The Salamander Designs Synergy System relies on shared ideas, yours along with Salamanders designers and engineers. The concept of the The Salamander Designs Synergy System combines simplicity with remarkable versatility.
The Salamander Designs Synergy System cabinet tops and bases are available with three genuine hardwood surfaces-cherry, maple and walnut-as well as in basic black. Side panels come in matching hardwood, black, perforated steel or with a suede-like fabric covering. Corner posts are matte black or aluminum.
Connect and juxtapose Salamander Designs Synergy System modules in numerous ways to create furniture recisely suited to your needs and your living space. Begin with one or more of the Salamander Designs Synergy System core modules, which are available in varying widths as well as in different heights. Then continue on to customize the Salamander Designs Synergy System that's precisely right for you. If you prefer exposed shelving, leave Synergy's handsome framework open. Otherwise opt for side panels that slide snugly into corner-post grooves, and a drawer or two for DVD's, CD's and other necessities. Synergy drawers install easily and slide smoothly, and our rear panels attach with thumbnuts for quick access to component jacks. There's no better wire management system available. You can also have hinged doors. One Synergy door style employs wood framing around a frosted glass panel. The other has a perforated steel center panel to mask speakers while letting their sound pass through. In both cases, infra-red remote signals pass, so you can control your entertainment system with cabinet doors closed. Now or later, add accessories for even more flair and function. All Synergy components interlock precisely and seamlessly.

This product was excellent and easy to assemble with quality workmanship and components. I would recommend anyone to buy this high end furniture for electronic home theatre systems.

THE GOOD: This holds all your gear and allows ventilation and IR passthrough with the doors closed. Shelving adjusts to exactly where you need it and is pretty easy to adjust later on. Seems very sturdy and is not horrible to move especially with the casters.
THE BAD: Mine shipped with the "NEW" hinges for the doors... they are absolutely horrible! I called customer support and inquired about them as they are not the same as the ones pictured in the manuals (or pictured in most of the marketing shots). They said they no longer have any of the old hinges and are trying to find a new source for them. The new hinges allow the doors to swing out almost a full 180 degrees... which would be great if not for the fact that the hinges take up more than 5 sq. in. in the corners inside the cabinet. This requires any equipment to be pushed back by at least that much - more if your amps have handles or rack ears! This makes using the back inserts impossible unless you have very short equipment (less than 12" deep max after accounting for cables) - and runs the risk of scuffing/scratching the sides of the components if they get pushed forward at all.
THE UGLY(ish): The finishes, while nice looking, are pretty cheap and do not have a 'high-end' feel at all. I got the black/black so I didn't expect it to look expensive (I wanted it to 'disappear' more than stand out in my theater) but I thought it would be nicer than it looks for the price they charge for it. The wood veneers are probably nicer than the black... it would be nice if the prices reflected that however.
As far as the packaging and the drop-shipment... can't complain at all. Pallet was very nicely wrapped and protected and everything arrived without even the tiniest scratch.
All in all I love this for a theater where function is far more important than form... but if it were going in a living room or other dual-use area I would probably look for a nicer quality, real-hardwood TV stand (most likely from a local furniture company).
I deducted one star for the finish vs. cost and another for the new hinges. Honestly their customer service was very honest and pleasant so I am sure they will be fixing the problem eventually - but that's little consolation to me now.

I had been searching for a new TV stand for a very long time. When I found this unit, I knew it was the one I wanted. It's very nice. The only complaint I have is it was shipped through Fedex and the whole corner of the box was destroyed and heavily taped. I think UPS is a better choice for delivery. But the Synergy Triple is a very nice unit.

We recently purchased a Synergy Triple entertainment center. The quality and craftsmanship is better than many top name stores we have shopped in the US and Europe. Must admit that we were reluctant to purchase furniture online because descriptions and pictures are often over rated or inaccurate. Definitely not the case here. The piece is even better than advertised and we are extremely pleased. Sincerely, V.P.
